About Our NGO

Shravan Badhit divyaang Abhibhavak Sangh(Deaf & Mute Disabled Parents Association) is the parent organization that operates Pragya Karn Badhir School. Founded specifically to improve education for deaf and hearing-impaired children, our NGO has been at the forefront of special education advocacy for over three decades.

Our organization was established by parents and families of hearing-impaired children who recognized the urgent need for specialized educational services in Chhattisgarh. What started as a small group of concerned parents has grown into a comprehensive support system for the deaf community.

The NGO operates under the umbrella of social welfare initiatives, working closely with the Chhattisgarh State Government and various charitable organizations to ensure that no child is left behind in their educational journey.

1992

Foundation of Shravan Badhit divyaang Abhibhavak Sangh

The parent organization was established by concerned parents and community members to address the educational needs of hearing-impaired children in Raipur.

Formed by parents of deaf and hearing-impaired children
Recognized the need for specialized education in Chhattisgarh
Initial meetings held in community centers
Registration process initiated with state authorities

School Formation and Early Operations

After the formation of the NGO, Pragya Karn Badhir School was established and began operations in a small compound within Madhav Rao Suprey Higher Secondary School.

School started in temporary facilities at Madhav Rao Suprey Higher Secondary School
Began with 15 students in shared compound space
First principal appointed for specialized deaf education
Initial curriculum development for hearing-impaired students

1995-2000

Early Growth and Development

The school expanded its programs and began developing specialized teaching methods for hearing-impaired children.

Own Building Construction in DD Nagar

The school achieved a major milestone by constructing its own permanent building in Sector-4, D.D. Nagar, Raipur, providing dedicated facilities for students.
